Hello there
I was the former PurpleHamsters from HH. I started to dislike HH for various reason like the ignorant and close-minded members, but I rather not get into detail. But me and the wonderful Pawlove stayed incontact, and she was kind enough to show me to Pet Haven where I hope will be a nice community, and I hope I have a good time here. I was debating whether to keep my name as PurpleHamsters, but I thought it would get confusing because PH can stand for Pet Haven and Purplehamsters so I changed it so me, and many others won't get confused or anything.
Extremely new to the forum, and I have not one clue how this place works and all the rules. I even struggled changing my avatar picture xc So if anyone would be kind enough to tell me all the rules, etc so I don't screw up and immediately get banned or something Also If someone could help me put a picture in my siggy I'd be grateful. Can it be a gif?
ps, I accidentally tried to make a account the other day, but I had forgotten the password to my email so there is another account named PurpleHamsters. If you can please delete that account

Hi there, welcome to Pet Haven! The rules are very simple and straight forward and can, if I've done this correctly, be found here pethaven.boards.net/thread/22/forum-rules-read-all-membersNew rules might be established as the forum grows, but for the right now we're all just about being nice and cromulant to one another, helping each other out and getting this place swinging :-P Signatures follow the same BBCode structure you're probably familiar with, and you can paste the code into the admittedly too-small box on the profile page. I'm working on making that box wider to make signature authoring a tad easier. It's on my ever growing to do list I'll close the purplehamsters account if you like I could probably do a password reset, perhaps, but you've made no posts on it yet so it's not like anything will be lost by simply closing it. Have lots of fun! Happy posting

I know the forum is still quite small, but doesn't the rules seem quite vague? It wouldn't hurt to simply state what age audience this forums recommends, and things like that. Or state if profanity is aloud or not. I know it's still growing, but having a better list of rules instead of "Have fun, and don't offend/upset anyone." won't hurt a single soul. I guess I just like rules that are right there so I can reread, and make sure I'm not doing something wrong.

Indeed, and as the forum grows, more rules will come into play We didn't want to lay down a big long list to begin with, then end up alienating anybody coming here from HH because of their shitty rule system. (Hint: profanity is allowed :-P just as long as it's not AT someone) If you did do anything wrong, we'd let you know, and you'd have to be particularly mean to get a warning point or anything else. As of right now we're fairly relaxed. If you want though, here are a few pointers: The forum is open to all ages, but if you're particularly young and just want to dick about all the time, this place probably isn't for you. Ultimately we want to become what HH used to be years ago, before the Gestapo policing, where people could have an opinion and not get shut down, and where people could discuss hamster genetics if they wanted to. Not necessarily breeding, but learning genetics because it's a fascinating topic, because you learn more about your pet and what causes different fur types and patterns and colours. If you want to be a breeder later on, you'll have more of the tools and knowledge to get you started as a proper registered breeder. HH seems to have become a "fun" place only, to the detriment of any serious discussion. We believe we have room here for fun AND serious. Post wise, you can double, triple, quadruple, whatever post, and this is bound to happen with many posts spread across few members anyway. Just don't spam the arse out of the forum. Posts on ALL boards are counted at the moment. This may change, but who knows when, or even if. Can't think of much else I suppose don't be afraid to post, that's the thing. Have an opinion, start debates, share knowledge. And have fun :-P

Okay, thanks for pointers it helped I very much so like the fact you can ask question regarding (ex) breeding without a million people jumping on you, and assuming you're gonna breed or something. I've always had a few questions regarding genetics, but always hesitated because all hell would brake loose, and people would automatically assume I'm gonna breed. Also just curious of would made the little logo thingy above.

Lacrima is the absolute best one here to ask about breeding and genetics Her and I used to have long LONG talks back in the day, bouncing knowledge off each other and collaborating on writing articles for HH. It was pretty amazing And the banner logo way up top our Ping made We have a talented bunch on this forum! The purple pawprint logo used in a few places, such as the FAVICON, was made by Pawlove.
