Evening, Pet Haveneers! go to the petstore "Pet Super Market" for my ham/gerb food and I've been wanting to get into Lab blocks (See this topic if you'd like: hamsterhideout.com/forum/topic/113547-food-mixing-questions/ ). My issue is, Pet Super Market has NO lab blocks. All seed mixes...But the other day I was there, I came across this big bitch: Is this the same thing as this?: www.petco.com/product/124824/Mazuri-Rat-And-Mouse-Food.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearchCan I use this as my "lab block?" This would help me out so much if I can use it with my Higgins Sunburst. Lab blocks and diet has probably been the most pain in the ass thing for me when it comes to Hamsters...I just CAN'T get the hang of it...

I checked the ingredients for both bags and they're exactly the same. It's just that bag above is the 25lb, and the one at petco is 2lb. So it should make an excellent diet when you mix it with some Higgins. My only concern is the fact it's 25lb! I'd just make sure you'll be able to get through all of that before it expires or you can pop it in the freezer so it stays fresh longer! c: I just saw that Tax said it may be expired? If so the quality of the food might've really deteriorated by now, and buying something expired will not have the same GA as it states on the bag. Also someone did say that it was 6% fat but I would not trust what petco says. They have numerous errors on their website, and they don't even picture the GA of the food on their website. I pulled up the same exact one on mazuri's website here, and the GA is identical along with the ingredients. So as long as it's not expired and you can pop it in a freezer/refrigerator to keep it fresh then I'd say go for it!

That bigassed bag of stuff has slightly more crude fat (half a percent), but that appears to be it! I did a screengrab of the petco ingredients and put it side by each against your picture, and it looked the same
