*This is the SECOND time I am writing this WHOLE thing because something glitched or I accidentally hit a wrong button and was taken to another page that said "drop photo here" Grr!!!! There isn't yet an Upbeat Uncle thread, but I have a few thing that I'm SO excited about that I just had to tell somebody 1. A few moths ago I took OFA level 1 (Occupational Fist aid) which was a full day course and I loved it! I passed it pretty easily, and went home feeling SO good about myself. I learned a legitimately useful skill, I could save a life!! Just a few days ago, my Dad and I went and signed me up for OFA level 3 (yes I know I skipped level 2, but it is ok to do that and very knowledgeable friend of ours told us that its pretty much the same as level 2, just with more time to practice). So I'm signed up for the end of September, and its a two week course. My instructor for OFA level 1 told us, and I quote "its two weeks long and makes people cry". Lol, we shall see about that If I can remember when I get to it, I'm going to keep a log of the two weeks in the blog section here for whoever is interested I'm excited, nervous, but excited! For the longest time I have been trying to figure out what to do with my life, but maybe being a first-aid attendant is it. I know that by the end of those two weeks, I will have skill that will open a lot of doors for me, and I'll have a better idea of if this is what I want to do.... I have always been fascinated by all the medical type shows and the amazing machine that is the human body but never had the marks or the ambition to go into the medical field... Maybe this is what I'm meant to do? 2. My birthday is coming up! 3. My dad recently got a new camera, so he's giving me his old Nikon for my birthday! I believe its a Nikon d5100, but I don't have it in front of me at the moment. In any case, its a camera that I have stolen borrowed, used, and loved on many occasions Some of you might recognize these pictures that were taken with the very camera I speak of: So yeah, I'm super excited that this amazing camera is going to be mine! You know, I wouldn't have even cared that much about having this camera a year ago, but now I share pictures with you people on such a regular basis that having a good camera is actually important to me And I like having pictures of my fuzzies (like these pictures I just shared) to look back on

Aah I'm so happy reading your first story! It's really uplifting to hear you've found another thing you can be passionate about. I hope you'll do well on the level 3 course!

Aah I'm so happy reading your first story! It's really uplifting to hear you've found another thing you can be passionate about. I hope you'll do well on the level 3 course! Me too! I guess since I graduated a few years ago I've kind of been moping around (I work for my dad, and though I still live in his house I do pay rent) trying to figure out what to do with myself. I have contemplated different career paths before, like taking a computer repair course (I'm very good with computers and enjoy figuring out how to fix them.... which is even part of my job, so it could be an option), massage therapist (I'm good at giving my friends and family massages and thought it might be neat) and even dog grooming, but nothing that I really truly felt like I could commit to... My problem is that my biggest fear is choosing something, paying for a bunch of courses and then deciding I don't like it... I think first aid is something where even if I decide its not for me once I complete the course, I still come out with extremely valuable skills.... skills that will certainly look good on a resume at the very least I can't really lose, which makes it a good starting point that will perhaps get me on a better track, cause lately I have been feeling like that cliche loser living in her parents basement... like everyone else is making a life, doing things, and here I am lost in the depths of that age where you feel like a kid but are supposed to be an adult I'm about to turn 23 and I still don't know where I'm going

I don't think you're a loser at all! You are just in the middle of starting life I'm really glad though, you were looking into things you will like to do rather than doing a job you might not like. Whether it is related to first aid or not, I hope you'll find something you really love to do!
