I'm not as up with small animal care as perhaps I once was, and pregnant smalls, definitely not! I'll try and amass info from other sources over time and creat new threads based on that, but for now we need the following threads: - How to deal with oops pregnancies
- Caring for abandoned pups
- Knowing when to separate pups from the mum
- Cleaning the habitat with pups
That's all I have for now
So anyone that has info slash experience with any of these points, please feel free to write up a thread! You will receive many many thanks, and be remembered always

I can write things on a hidden board, save it as I go and fine tune it, then move it to the appropriate board when it's done That way I have a sort of scratchpad area where I can edit stuff without having to leave it as draft all the time, and hope that the forum doesn't eat it :-P

If this is a board for ALL pregnant animals, but she's making a post for hamsters, specifically, shouldn't there be something specifically saying it's only for hamsters?

It's for all small animals, though I'm guessing opps hamster pregnancies are more common? Or that might just be a consequence of coming from a hamster forum. I don't know if Mika's making a thread for hamsters, or a general one or not. I imagine different animals will need different care needs anyway, I don't know that much about it

Well I know pregnant rat care is pretty much the same nutrition-wise, but you need to hold the babies from birth and stuff, where as a hamster obviously you don't touch the babies.

You need to hold the babies? Oh wow! Such a difference there, that's interesting

Yup, baby rats (and I think maybe mice?) need to be held from birth, provided the mom is okay with it. They need to be super socialized. Which is why rats are always so friendly, I think.
