As some of you know, I breed Roborovski hamsters (: I approach this with 100% ethical prospectives and moral husbandry. My goal is to establish a healthy line of roborovskis for my area, as Robos are non-existent, and any that come up- are quite finicky with their genetics. For optimal transparency, I can definitely give out information regarding my litters, but will not be giving out information on how to breed hamsters. I happily and openly support knowledged breeders that have done extensive research and breed with priorities being genetics and proper husbandry. - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - -- - Spica Hamstery's B15 litter features our "Tropical Roborovski"! We have two little girls in this litter that are calm and oh-so darling! 'Gemini Dust' x 'Piccolo Latte' - -- - 2 Females (2 Agouti) SH's "Petite Piña" ♀ SH's "Coconut Colada" ♀ These Photos were from Day 11, and they've already started to bumble around on their feet by this point. Drives momma up the wall! Note: All photos were captured with a DSLR's 18-55mm kit lens at full zoom. Nest was not disturbed and mom was not distressed. We'll update with more photos as the days go on ^__^ one girl will be staying with us, while the other finds her forever home soon!

Why thank you! there's more! Day 12 means babies opened their eyes! When i did a quick check, I was pretty confident that they were both girls so I'll confirm as we go on. Momma Gemini's been fabulous with them and theyve all been active and moving around. That Photobomb family photo is quite the capture haha!

Photos coming up! slightly delayed due to being swamped with job interviews and such, but here they are! These are a few nights old, I believe they were taken 2-3 nights back? I'll check my memory card's data soon. They're both starting to adjust to the idea of sleeping in my hands and by far, they have the best temperament out of my two litters and hamsters combined. Both are extremely okay with being scooped up, being cupped until they drift off. Mom's done super well with them since they're enormous and chubby! x)

Bit of an update Photos coming soon- just need to edit them a tad! We unfortunately lost Pico some time back. His health was in a downward spiral. He fought hard and trucked on for some but in the end, couldn't overcome. This came after a sudden scuffle between him and Spica that ended sour. It was something that caught everybody off guard. It does hit us hard but we needed to focus on the larger perspective issue happening as a result. His sired litter. We made the choice to bring him into our vet to have a necropsy done. We received his results in a few days and his passing was not due to anything health-related that was able to be passed on. It was ruled out to have simply been an injury-related cause. This means both Pina and Colada are in the clear! They will be able to carry on our program, as well as be adopted out successfully in order to make some future owners very happy!
